Vivaldi's Thoughts on Magic
By Vivaldi
Magic is all around us. Whether we choose to ignore it or not is up to the individual. But you can see this magic in everything, be it the subtle feelings you get as you walk, hand in hand, with your lover, or that strange feeling of sheer blatant power that a necromancer feels as he or she raises the the dead.
Magic surrounds us, indeed it surrounds anything that is sentient. For thoughts, are in a way magic. How did you learn to think? Scientists are still trying to find out why this phenomenon exists, and why exactly it rests in humans as it does. Only one word can really explain it: magic. Yes, it's magic that can be explained through your religion, or perhaps science. But it is magic nonetheless, magic that we let slip stream through our fingers, like long beams of golden sunlight.
We are indeed magical creatures, from the purest unicorn, to the plainest human.
I remember when I was with Aburn, one of Jess's friends, trapped in THE COUNCIL'S headquarters, asked me if I could use magic to get them out. It was then I realized that humans take their own magic for granted.
For some strange reason I am still not certain about, humans think that magic is simply waving around a wand, or throwing together potions in a certain way. That's not magic. Any human could wave a wand, and certainly throwing potions together couldn't be so hard.
No, magic is much deeper. It is deep within the soul. It is a feeling, an instinct, just waiting to break out. And it does, in the most peculiar ways, placing smiles on people's faces, singing out music, and spreading joy throughout the world.
Don't believe me? Then why are there so many stories about people regretting to selling their souls to evil? It makes you wonder.
Magic is simply a realization of your abilities. We unicorns possess gifts of healing. Dragons possess gifts of fire. Fairies possess gifts of blessings; and curses. There are not many humans with these gifts, but they have so many other talents and attributes! This is magic. So why don't you use it?
